The Story Behind Wanderstan
Not all roads appear on maps.
Some of them begin in the mountains.
I was born in Kyrgyzstan, where wide valleys, nomadic traditions, and
the old routes of the Silk Road shape everyday life.
Growing up surrounded by this landscape, travel was never something distant — it was simply part of the world around me.
Over the years, curiosity turned into a profession and a passion.
I began my journey in tourism in 2011 and have been guiding travelers across Central Asia since 2013.
For more than a decade, I have explored remote regions, led journeys, and shared the stories of this land with people from around the world.
Along the way, I have taken part in various trainings, seminars, and guiding programs in different countries, continuously deepening my knowledge of the region, its cultures, and the principles of meaningful travel.
I have also traveled to many countries, which has helped me better understand different cultures and perspectives. I speak Kyrgyz, Russian, English, Turkish, and Italian, allowing me to work comfortably with international travelers. I am currently completing my Master’s degree in Ecotourism.
Wanderstan is a place to collect these moments.
Here you will mostly find photographs, fragments of journeys, and
small stories from the road — across the mountains of Kyrgyzstan,
the ancient cities of Uzbekistan, the vast steppes of Kazakhstan,
the wild landscapes of Tajikistan, and the quiet deserts of Turkmenistan.
Not every journey needs many words.
Sometimes a place speaks for itself.
Welcome to Wanderstan.

“What is Wanderstan?”
Wanderstan is a space created to share the beauty of Central Asia —
a region rich in culture, landscapes, and traditions.
The name combines “wander” — to explore freely and follow curiosity —
and “-stan”, meaning “land”. Together, it reflects a land of exploration.
More than just a name, Wanderstan is a way of traveling — slow, meaningful,
and deeply connected to people and places.
